Welcome to Buck’s Game Birds — a family-built dream rooted in the mountains, shaped by love, and driven by a shared passion for the outdoors!

What started as two separate paths eventually became one incredible journey.

Aly’s story began with a deep love for Coturnix quail — raising, learning, and sharing her knowledge of breeding and color genetics through what was once known as Maine’s Confetti Quail Farm. What began as a small passion quickly grew into something more: a connection to sustainable living, animal care, and a community of fellow quail enthusiasts. You can find several of Aly’s educational videos on her YouTube channel, as well as on Coturnix Corner. 

James, on the other hand, was rooted in the traditions of the outdoors — hunting, training, and living closely with the land. His passion was built on patience, respect for wildlife, and the kind of knowledge that only comes from time spent in the forest and field.

When Aly and James found each other, everything changed.

Their lives didn’t just come together — their passions did too…

What began as two separate interests soon intertwined into a shared vision: to build something meaningful, something lasting, and something they could grow together. From that vision, Buck’s Game Birds was born! 

Now based in the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire, Buck’s Game Birds is more than just a quail farm — it’s a reflection of a life they’re building side by side. A life centered around family, hard work, learning, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors, and each other.

At the heart of it all is Buck — their yellow lab and the inspiration behind the name. Buck isn’t just a mascot; he represents the future of the farm, as he begins his journey training on Coturnix quail and becoming part of the daily rhythm of life here.

Together, Aly and James are raising quality game birds while also sharing their experiences — from quail care, color breeding genetics and hatching, to training, harvesting, and everything in between. Their goal is not just to provide birds, but to help others learn, grow, and feel confident in their own journey, whether they’re just starting out or deepening an existing passion.

And as they continue building their farm, they’re also building a family — welcoming a new chapter with a baby girl on the way, and embracing all the joy and adventure that comes with it!
